Early Life
Patrick Leonard Sajdak was born in Chicago on the 26th of October, 1946. His parents are Joyce Helen and Leonard Anthony. When he was young, his father died, so his mother married another man. He grew up with a brother David Sajdak and a half-brother William Backal.
Pat finished the Farragut High School and continued education at Columbia College in Chicago.
Professional Career
After graduation, he started to work at the Spanish radio station on the English newscaster. During the Vietnam War, the host was a part of the US Army. During that time, he worked as a disc jockey. When he left the army, Sajak worked for many different radio stations, including Nashville and Kentucky.
From 1977 to 1981, he worked as a weatherman in Los Angeles at the KNBC-TV. After that job, Pat got a job as a host of the Wheel of Fortune. However, that was not as smooth as the director of NBC didn’t want him to take that job.
In spite of that, the weatherman got the job and began to work in the daytime and nighttime versions. Later on, he remained the host only of the night version.
