During our quarantine period caused by the spread of the popular COVID-19 virus, watching inspirational movies is probably the best way to spend our free time and take your mind of the virus. Films have always been the greatest form of entertainment, and I think that a lot of people can agree on this one.
There are numerous other ways to spend your free time and to be entertained, but watching movies is great because you can always learn something new and useful from them, especially if you watch those that are based on real-life stories.
In today’s article, we’ve prepared films that we think are worth watching, especially in a period where all of us tend to feel a bit “down” due to all the chaotic events going on around us. If you feel like you can use some inspiration at the moment, and you need some entertainment as well, feel free to stick with us until the end. Let’s take a look.
1. Schindler’s List (1993)
For our first pick, we decided to go with Schindler’s List, a film that was made back in 1993 and it has a very powerful and inspirational story that we’re not going to spoil for you by uncovering any important details. However, something that you can read even from the most general movie description is that it’s about a German politician who wants to profit from World War II, and starts working on his plan.
What’s going to happen in the film is up to you to uncover, but make sure to watch it because this one is probably one of the most emotional and inspirational films that you’ll ever watch.
2. Catch me if you can (2002)
This film can be inspirational but in a slightly different way. It teaches us a lesson about how important creativity can be even in a society that says you must follow the rules. Of course, you should not be doing what the main character in this movie is doing, but you can use it as an example to learn that everything is possible if you plan it well enough. This one is considered to be a classic, and an absolute masterpiece, so watch it if you have some free time on your hands.

You’ll probably recognize the main actor just from the few photos that you can find on the internet about this film, so that’s an even bigger reason to see this one. A great story combined with quality actors? Yes, please.
4. Coach Carter (2005)
If you are a fan of sports, and you are looking for a fun movie to watch either alone or with your family, this one is probably the best basketball story you’ll ever find. Coach Carter is a classic title that tells us the story about a very experienced and serious basketball coach, who wants to inspire and motivate his players to become exceptional not only at the game they’re playing but in many different aspects of life as well.
Throughout the entire film, you will be entertained by coach Carter’s unique methods of teaching basketballs, and you’ll run into a few sayings that you’ll remember for a long time. A truly inspirational film that you have to see, especially if you are into playing basketball.
5. Papillon (2017)
If this one doesn’t inspire you, we’re not sure what will. Papillon is a film based on a true story, about a person who ends up in one of the harshest jails that humanity knows of, and then tries many different escape plans, out of which only a few words, but not fully. We’re not going to uncover the story and what happens with the plot, but you’ve already probably heard rumors about the person who managed to escape from a prison set on a deserted island.
Throughout this movie, you will feel a lot of emotions, and they will become even stronger when you realize that it’s based on a true story. This one can teach us that justice always wins at the end and the importance of true friends in your life. Remember, it’s not for those who are claustrophobic.

Chances are that some of you already know about this movie, but if you want a fun title to watch, one that’s based on a true story and is somewhat inspirational, there’s always a second time for The Wolf of Wall Street.
A film that came out back in 2013, packed with a very interesting and true story, a lot of funny moments and great production value that will keep you intrigued throughout the entire length.
