2024 has been an excellent year for video games, with the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, among others. Judging from the announcements made during the Summer Game Fest-Xbox Showcase held in June, next year is set to be equally exciting.
Netflix has already given the green light to Squid Game. Nintendo is working on Princess Peach, while Katsuhiro Harada has confirmed Tekken 8. This means many titles are coming to the major gaming platforms (Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC) in 2024.

Squid Game
Netflix is entering the gambling industry with a slot game based on one of its popular shows: the Squid Game. The game is the work of Light and Wonder Gaming Company and will feature three bonus rounds.
The top prize of the Squid Game will depend on the configuration and might range from $200,000 to $400,000. Light & Wonder will house the game on a 75-inch screen with 600,000 micro-LED pixels to give the game an immersive and seamless gameplay.
On December 6, 2024, Netflix will launch “Squid Game: The Trials” as a teaser for the main game’s release in 2024. You can get tickets for the teaser for as little as $39 and compete in six challenges within 70 minutes.

Tekken 8

During Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, the Series creator, Katsuhiro Harada, confirmed the game is being built using Unreal Engine 5 technology. Tekken 8 will not feature any assets used in its predecessor.
The game will include a Playable Character Year 1 pass, Mokujin and Tetsujin avatar costumes (PlayStation), and Paul Phoenix avatar costumes for other platforms. Tekken 8 will launch on 26, January, 2024, on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

GTA VI
After over a decade of waiting, it is soon time for Rockstar Games and Take-Two to release the highly anticipated GTA VI. Rockstar confirmed the development of GTA VI in February 2022 but has since released small teasers of the development. It sure looks to be an action-packed game with AI NPCs, smart police, and new exciting missions on an even larger map.
On November 8, Rockstar Newswire made some exciting GTA VI announcements. The game’s first trailer is expected in early December, coinciding with the 2024 Game Awards and Rockstar’s 25th anniversary.
Big hints suggest GTA VI will be released in 2024, thanks to Take-Two Interactive’s projected financial gains for the 2025 fiscal year (from April 2024 to March 2025). We’ll update you once we get a copy of the official GTA VI release date.
Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster
Star Wars: Dark Forces was released in 1995 by LucasArts as a first-person shooter game. The game has an extensive selection of items and power-ups, giving players an interactive gameplay.
Twenty-eight years later, Nightdive Studios is restoring the game using the KEX engine. This means Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster will be compatible with modern gaming systems at up to 4k resolution at 120FPS.
The game will also have enhanced lighting and rendering, upgraded gameplay, high-resolution textures, and gamepad support. Nightdrive Studios will release Dark Forces Remaster on 28 February 2024. The game will be available for PlayStation 4 & 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC, and Xbox Series X & S.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is an action-adventure legendary game set in a mythological Persian world. The game is the work of Ubisoft Entertainment and will be released on 18 January 2024.
The game will feature immersive cinematics, high-quality graphics, and a 60fps rate to enhance the gameplay. Players will leverage their wit to solve puzzles, complete quests, and find hidden treasures, among other mysteries of Mount Qaf.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will be available for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, Amazon Luna, and Xbox Series X/S.
